Museum Hours
As per the Governor’s mandate concerning non-essential businesses closing, the FASNY Museum of Firefighting is now closed until such time the Governor deems it safe to reopen.

We will keep you posted as the situation evolves. Thank you for your understanding, and please be safe.

Open 10:00am - 4:30pm daily.

Galleries close at 4:30pm for ticketed visitors.*

Adults: $10

Children: $5
(age 3 and older)

Family: $25
(2 adults and their 2 children)

Children under age 3: FREE

Museum and FASNY Members: FREE

The Museum also
participates in the Empire State Reciprocal Program and NARM.
Members of these programs will also receive FREE admission, as per the Museum's policy: see the "Hours and Admission" page for more info.

Guided Group Tours

Explore the Museum, including fire trucks and fire and rescue gear, and participate in the interactives throughout the Museum during your tour......

Self-guided tours are appropriate for families (with less than 10 family members) and individuals. If you plan on visiting the Museum with a group of ten or more, please see the Museum's polices for "guided tours" below.

Guided tours are required for groups consisting of ten or more individuals. A seasonal picnic area is also available for groups of ten or more, and this area is booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. To check the availability and current rates for guided tours or to book a guided tour, please contact the Museum staff at 518-822-1875 or email us your request using the "Contact Us” form on this website.

Guided Group tours for School Groups-grades Pre-K to 4th:

Programs consist of the History of Firefighting and one other component, either Dare to be Prepared or The Science of Fire, depending on the age of the students.

The History of Firefighting: Ever wondered how firefighters went from fighting fires with buckets of water to operating the humongous fire trucks of today? Bring you group and learn all about the history of firefighting through an interactive tour.  After the tour, see if your group can beat the clock at the popular Bucket Brigade interactive. This tour is perfect for ages 3-100.  Meets NYS Learning Standards for Social Studies.

Dare to be Prepared: Come and learn about fire safety and prevention, as we take your class through a hazard house, teach them about when to dial 9-1-1, when to stop, drop and roll, tools and toys and other fire safety and prevention concepts. Students then will have the opportunity to complete the Jr. Firefighter Challenge course and enjoy the Museums interactive Creative Play Trucks. For grades Pre-K-2. Meets NYS Learning Standards.

The Science of Fire: Join Professor Sparks in his lab as he takes your class through concepts such as the elements of fire, heat and fuel sources, chemical reactions, and much more.  Students will have the opportunity to assist Professor Sparks in completing his science experiments all while learning the important concept of fire safety. Students then will have the opportunity to enjoy the Museums interactive Creative Play Trucks For grades 3 & 4. Meets NYS Learning Standards for Science.

Other Guided Group Tours: Whether you’re a senior citizens group, a Cub Scout group, a pre-school group or an antique apparatus collectors group, the Museum can offer you a guided tour that will be enjoyable and educational for your members.
